Default problem connecting acer 5002 to samsung LA32A450C1 through vga port

hi,

i recently bought samsung La32A450 and tried hooking it to my acer 5002 lappy through vga male to male cable. the acer has SIS m760gx video card and i already installed the drivers for it.. in the system utility tray SIS i cannot find an option of tv out nor vga out..and it just wont recognise my tv.. i tried acer n SIS site but no luck.. SIS site wanted to keep the bios up to date.. do u think it is necessary to get the tv out option ?? any suggestion or opinion will be of great help.

thank you

Hi..

Welcome to TE Forums..

Is ur LCD TV connected to the lappy via the D-sub connector, u're referring to??

I mean something like this:

And after plugging the cable, did u press the key combination reqd. to output the display onto the LCD???

Something like Ctrl + [A function key - F4 or F5].. Not sure abt which function key is it..

ya its the same port u r referring to (vga/d).. i already tried that option. the combination is fn + f5 but nothing actually works.. when i connect my laptop to tv i dont see any display on my laptop till the windows password (windows start up) screen comes.. i mean the windows loading screen is not shown in the lappy and in my tv wont detect an active pc connection itself, far is the point of displaying pc screen.

And in the display properties when i my monitor setting from default to plug and play my lappy screen went blank but still tv dint detect anything. but after sometime lappy did show the screen saver alone.. and idea whats happening inside ?

Try the VGA out of the 5002 with a CRT monitor;

The display should output to the CRT when Fn + F5 is pressed;

If it works, u need to meddle with ur LCD TV options for the VGA input;
