    hey guys,

    bought a dell 1525 laptop 3 weeks back,the config is dual core,1gb ddr2 ram,vista basic,

the major problem is its terriblly slow, each application right from my computer to media player takes 20 seconds.

now my friends tell me the problem could be of vista or ram.

    i feel ram,

if i go to upgrade from dell it becomes expensive,if i do it from outside my warranty will get affected,

please suggest will the warranty get affected or any other solution.

    thanks

    kunal

replacing RAM will NOT affect ur warranty Not AFAIK. At teh worst u can take out the extra sticks n put in the originals wen going for any servicin with dell

Call them up n ask to make sure whether u need to keep ur old stick or not everyone upgrades RAM afterwards, else its too expensive

Try alternative Operating system which work Faster than Vista.

You can install windows XP or Ubuntu Linux.
