    hi huys,



    ive zeroed down on 2 laptops.....one is the Compaq Presario V6608AU with AMD TURION TL-58 1.9GHZ and the other is Acer Aspire 4720 with the C2D 1.5ghz.



    I wanted to ask which of these two would be a better buy in terms of their performance,graphics and batter life, irrespective of their cost.........



    Also i read that the Amd is a better processor and the NVidia 7150 would give me better graphics and performance.....is this right?? should i go for the amd turion ????

    The v6608au has been discontinued. You should get the v3702au now.

    the C2D is the better proccy as compared to the turion AMD lost its lead long back.

    Got Compaq V3702AU ...........really cool machine...got it upgraded to 2GB..........works smoothly!!!!!

    i wud suggest to go for acer purely on the basis of processor

    V6608 is discontinued, but you can still grab it from Nehru Place Delhi. I got it for my cousin on 5th of march. And I am impressed with it. I got it for 29500+bag. Shop was "Cost 2 cost".

    Discontinued doesn't mean that its a bad deal to make... as you will get the same warranty and support from the company.

    Congrats for the laptop



    my chat with the shopkeeper @ nehru place revealed that several times a discontinued product will come minus any significant price cuts because the machine is still in high demand and the supply is short. it is interesting to see how even with laptops prices vary within the same week at the same shop depending on the demand-supply scale. and yes, u do get the same company warranty and everything...most of the time the same parts..just packaged differently.

    i'm fir from malaysia.. can this list of acer empowering tools work on my already installed XP acer aspire 4720 battery? i learn that it only works on vista? is it right?
