i can give a tip on how to remove an addon that cannot be removed the normal way - The java console.

Whenever we update the java runtime, we see a newer version of java console in addons tab, but no way to remove the disabled or in use previous console. Only way to remove these older versions is to right click on the FF link and open as administrator, give password if asked and then the uninstall option is enabled. After uninstalling the older java console versions, you can exit and start ff in normal mode.

Re: Must Have Firefox Add-ons : Towards A Fitter Firefox

No script add on is too protective..

It wont run scripts even on facebook, orkut gmail and the likes...

some times if u come across a new site u wont even know which scripts are being blocked na dsome of them might be needed..

IN megaupload the download script doesnt work... so i cant download..

You can disbale it on sites you know... but the sites yoou dont know off and which are of use... might get partially blocked and i wont even come to know..

So a strict NO no for this one..

    My favortie would be..

    WOT

    ABP

USER AGENT SWITCHER - somesites require that you use IE only.. with this just one click and it tricks the site into thinking you are using IE 5, 6 ,7 or or even iphone browser..

ExternalIP - shows ur current ip in the status bar.. useful for people like me with dynamic ip..

FlagFox - shows the flag of the country where the website is hosted..

I personnaly prefer Firefox Sync over Xmarks. I found it pretty confusing to use Xmarks for the first time. Firefox sync actually adds up as tab in Firefox options.
