Yup, generally they do quote the MRP of the product and after that offers some discount which makes them equivalent to local price with some up's and down's. There are some exceptions though![]()
After buying lots of stuff from TE, i have started shopping from online shopping sites. The price tags generally says 64% -67% off and shows a lower price. Say the price of a 2GB pen drive is originally tagged at 800 bucks and after applying 64% (so called) discount they try to sell it at 289 buck, which is the local price of a 2GB pen drive.
Now whats this suppose to mean, do they qoute the MRP printed on the product or what?

Completely agree, they try to exploit consumers tendency to fall for sale/discounts.
Original prices are much less than quoted. Its basically a scam.
Whatever words we utter should be chosen with care for people will hear them and be influenced by them for good or ill.
^^ as because of that some noob use to say that online shops gives massive discount![]()

Well, except the exceptions max. are same case. Like when I looked at Optimus One at Flipkart it seemed nice to me for Rs. 11999/- after looking some in eBay for 15k, but when I checked out Mobile Store just after that, I saw the same price there. So nothing glamorous offer.
