^^ The mayan calender "end of world" prediction is really BS. It's just that their calendar ends at that time and the "new awakening" that has been so mis-used by conspiracy theorists, seers, and astrologers alike is actually the pole reversal of the sun that is going to happen 'according to the Mayans.' Rest of the theory is just a story cooked up to sell doomsday books and launder money in it's name.

well theres a lot of things happening on dec 2012 , and it will be interesting to see what happens ..the sun's solar flares are going to be at a maximum, the magnetic poles will shift,plus our whole solar systems shifts downwards of milkyway....all in dec.2012 ...too many permutations , getting closer to the year and date all this conspiracy theories will get higher in volume...so enjoy the ride

^^ Mayans never actually said that it was going to be the end of the world, like you said that was just bull crap that people just love to spread. All they mentioned was that a new cycle was going to start. And they pretty much were on track with that. I just wish i had the link to where i actually read that. It was too deep for me to understand, something to do with how something rotates around something and each rotation is about 27000 years or somthing. Yea how accurate huh? Label me as a mayan aswell. LOL!



The funny question about this fiasco, is i never was able to find out how mayans and hindus use the same calendar system (im not even sure if this is true), but a friend of mine in Uni, went on to say that the mayans kicked out one of their "gods" and this god landed in india and thats when the hindu civil started or something ridiculous as that. Never got to the bottom of it coz im too busy living my life (now atleast, hehe).

On dec 21st 2012 the mayan calender completes it's baktun - a period of around 5000 (approx) solar years. It completes its 13th cycle.



About the hindu calendar matching the mayan's i dunno much. But it's common knowledge of the fact that Lord Krishna predicted the end of "Kaliyug" (current age) and the start of the "Satya Yug" which incidentally co-incides with the Mayan prophecy.

Aaj-tak, IBN7 and indiatv are pretty much the experts from pulling things out of their a$$e$ ! Besides nostradamus' predictions have never been used as forewarnings uptil now ! AajTak , IBN 7 [The king of shit] , India TV donno where do they get all this news which is never shown on other news channels.

On Dec 2012 BSNL (the largest ISP in India) will announce 20Mbps unlimited Internet download package for Rs 500.



Almost all subscribers will upgrade to that plan, and start downloading.... because of the sheer volume of the downloads, the international line will get clogged causing one of the undersea cables to overload and overheat. The overheating will heat the sea water causing a lot water vapour which would cause the new ice age (it being December and all.)
