Guys i heard that, since the release of 5850/70, the prices of ATi would go low further. I want to buy a 4670 as it'd be the VFM for me. Please tell me the current price of Sapphire/MSI/PowerColor 4670 512MB GDDR3 versions.

And also how much price drop would i expect from the current price and when it'll reflect?

Id say go ahead with the purchase. Price drops will take a while, and won't affect stuff lower in the GPU hierarchy enough to warrant waiting.

Initially only 5870, 5870X2,5850 are gonna release with prices at 400,550, and 300 USD... so I guess 5850 will be approx. 17K in India... I doubt if they will affect 4670 prices...

theres no way that hd4670 prices will go down further...this will only happen if a hd56xx comes out..which makes 9600gt price slash half then hd4670go down...but thats not gonna happen

But one of my friend told me that HD4670 is not meant for playing games at high settings with a 15" LCD? Is that so? And he recommend me to get a 9600GT instead of 4670. Coz he said the 9600Gt is perefct for 15" LCD which runs all games at full glory? Is it?

I am confused between these two? Please enlighten me guys...

Both. Infact, there's not much difference between both. You can go with anyone. I too would suggest 4670 only.

But my friend told me that 4670 was not able to play games at full glory and its only for AA. And nvidia is much better than that. Is that true?

^^ refer this article: Ati radeon 4670 vs 9600 gso/gt - Pc Gamers Era

The following is a quote from this:

The 4670 gives the geforce 9600gso (its nvidia competitor ) a run when AA turned on.

And u can say this card is somewhere near to the geforce 9600gt, as it is found to beat it in certain games like crysis and call of duty 4 (source guru 3d).

Though the 9600gt is a bit better in performance but still if a person is opting to shell out around 5000 INR he/she defenetly cant afford for 2.5k more for the psu so id rather sugest to go for the 4670 than the\ 9600gt + branded power supply for 5% or no performance difference. Also Benchmarks from Legit Reviews, Guru 3d , AnandTech show the 4670 having an edge over the 9600gt/gso at 1280*1024/1440*900 resolutions .

    ^^

    Thats what i am thinking..

But 5k seems to be too much for a HD4670 as HD4850 is just avail for 6.2k.. and 9800GT(w/o 6-pin power connector) for around 6k...
