Totally agree with Roboghost. Pentium D will bottleneck the HD4670, Please shift to the Supreme VFM Cpu: E5300
(45nm, Gr8 performance, highly OCable, low power consumption, low cost, no need to upgrade soon)

If you want to stick to your decision no matter what, then buy Zotac 9800GT 512MB @ 5.4k = Best VFM G.Card in the market currently and Enough for gaming on an 18.5inch LCD. BUT, your Pentium D will highly hinder its performance.

Zotac 9800GT is actually Nvidia Geforce 9800GT manufactured by Zotac. Its a good company with nice A.s.s. and VFM pricing. Go for it.

Thats your only choice in 5k-6k bracket
6k-7k: Powercolor Ati HD4850 HDMI @ Rs. 6600
In nvidia, higher options are: Nvidia Geforce GTS 250, GTX 260 Core 216, GTX 275, and so on.. Though none of these is required for 18.5inch LCD.

This is more or less the perfect recommendation for the TS.

@viva1986
Hello,
I would suggest you give this a read:-
http://www.techenclave.com/pc-periph...lp-138633.html

You're asking for suggestions, that's what you are getting. Try not to set parameters/limiters when you ask questions. Since you decided to post here, accept the judgement of the people replying to your query.

1)Your Pentium D will horribly bottleneck any ~6k card. If you are going to "upgrade later", why not upgrade the GPU later as well? You'll possibly get a better product cheaper.

2)The HD4670 will max. out most games on a 19 inch display when paired with an E5xxx class processor.

3)The upgrades suggested above fit your budget. I see no reason to not go ahead with it.

4)The Nvidia equivalent to the 4670, the 9600GT costs a bit more, uses more power and offers very little performance gain over the HD 4670 to get a recommendation.

If you have any other queries or some other upgrade plans in the near future, please do post about them.

PS: If you must purchase a more expensive card, go with the Zotac(Nvidia) 9800GT, or a 4850 if you can raise your budget a bit as suggested above by sato1986.

As usual, the great presentation and great advice
But, please note: HD4670 will NOT max games released in 2009. By that i mean 50+ FPS wont be achieved on most 2009 games when set at Max graphics. Hence Geforce 9800GT is much better/optimal for 19" (also noting that you like nvidia more than ati). Rest of the info is totally agreed upon.
