Catalyst 8.9 beta leaked out. Interesting.

Well it leaked out on the web.

I did some testing, and results are stunning to say the least.

All the tests below are done at clock speed of 864/1165. GPUZ is not detecting clock speeds properly with this driver.

First,
3DMark Vantage

I know its a synthetic benchmark but anyway.

Here is the result :

Its over 200 Points jump from Catalyst 8.8beta which in itself is faster than official 8.8


Crysis

The Crysis results are stunning to say the least. Absolutely amazing FPS for HD4870.

1280x1024 DX9 High


But the real kicker is this.

1680x1050 DX10 Very High




Other observations : GPU VRM Amps have gone down by 5Amps from 8.8 beta to 8.9beta for idle GPU.

For on load GPU its gone down by 8-9Amps. I havent tested system load yet. Will do that if time permits tonight

You means theres a big performance jump AND lower power consumption? Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.................... Hopefully the same is true for the 4850 as well.

40FPS VH 1680, 13FPS jump

1680x1050 score is amazing,did you hard mod your card for those frequencies or just pure luck?also which model is it?

Nah not 14FPS Scores in crysis benchmark thread are on different setup and hardware ). I was able to get 36-37FPS from 8.8 and 8.7 its around 3-4FPS jump from 8.8 for me, which for crysis is very significant.

How to get the scores like this? I will let everyone know in few days Have a bet running with someone to identify that

This makes the current ATI cards even better than Nvidia i suppose.
