Btw, i hate plastic waste, so i collect everything disposable and plastic and keep them in a box. Needless to say i don't need to buy zip or twist ties...

Here's my personal "setup", a thoroughly abused hand-me-down Late 2011 MacBook Pro 13in, with a Logitech M90 Wired optical mouse and a Sony SBH20 bluetooth receiver (headphones were also hand-me-downs, but because of the short cable, they were not used until we them paired with our BT receiver)

The laptop (received a few months ago) and the headphones both freebies (obv. as stated above). The BT receiver cost about 3k, back in 2014. Still works great though. The mouse I saved up for (200-ish rupees) and bought just about an year ago to use with my previous laptop.

I mostly use it for multimedia, because it literally can't do much else , and to stream games from my main family desktop. Though, without support for third-party applications to use hardware H.264 decoding, even that's not very good. But it (barely) works, so it's good for now I suppose.

I did something to avoid real upgrade to a 55" TV:
Before and after pics ;)
Spray painted silver bezel of my 6 year old Panasonic to black! So pleased.
Total cost : Rs. 475.

Old silver bezel which I never liked:

Inserting chart paper under the bezel to avoid painting the panel.

Sticking paper on the panel to avoid it from moving:

Looking great but by now I was already thinking to do the same on the monitor lol.

Your speakers are on your wall, your bigger monitor is on your wall, is your keyboard also on wall or is that a table?

Also i still didn't got what you did. Did you fabricated a new display panel ?

I guess i watched too much LTT, and thus overthinked that you built a new frame and attached a new bigger pannel or some kind of projector. Totaly didn't even thought of dark bezel for those extra inches.
It is looking so good to me I am thinking of doing the same on the monitor. It is just one shade of one brand that I really like. Kobe Matt or Flat black. It looks like power coated/factory painted. Used the same to spray paint my entire bike from red to matt black years ago lol.

very nicely done looks professional.
Now I'm gonna try this bezel paint trick on my 4k TV but I think it's not the right time as 2 years warranty still left.

Here's from a little project I did, at the behest of @Emperor

Everything about this is cheap, so thought it may deserve a mention here - DIY A/V cables (weirdly enough,I didn't have this among all those cables I have hoarded over the years, and getting one from Amazon was no fun) , my 17 year old LG 14" CRT, and an Android box acquired here second-hand from @Nitendra Singh

Anyhow, YouTube on my CRT... finally. Photos below include a trial run on a Raspberry Pi 2B. Eventually had to swap the VIDEO and GROUND ends to get it working on the Android box.

like this, tried to do something similar - even bought 2 hdmi to av adapters from flipkart for 150 bucks each - however didnt plug into an old crt - takes too much real estate, so the crt is in the balcony tucked away! :) :)
then bought a 32 inch quadhd lenovo display on a whf assistance allowance from the wife's office :D

Oh, finally a thread where I can flex.
Behold, and tremble. Gives a whole new meaning to 'bare metal'.

AMD A8 3870K, no GPU. Has trouble running YT at a decent FPS :grimacing:
