Sony Xperia S/P/U/Sola/GO Thread

Don't worry. That's bad news only for T/TX/V. The same way Xperia S got ICS AFTER 2011 devices. Xperia U Go Sola all will get JB in or before December this year.
 
I will be really happy if that turns out to be true :D

Yup. Since the Xperia P has the same SoC as the U/Sola they should probably get the update. They also have the same 16:9 aspect ratio screen and differ only in RAM quantity.

I think you should try using the "Better Battery Stats" app to see what has been eating into the power while the screen is off.
Both KWls and PWLs should give you a decent idea.

Also, install Gemini App Manager to configure what apps are allowed to auto start (requires root).
You'll be surprised to see that how many apps can auto start without your permission.

If some system apps are causing the battery drain then you can try freezing them with Titanium Backup (you can always defrost them back if there is any instability).

Also, sync accounts only when required.

You can also use "Battery Calibration" app to recalibrate your battery since a miscalibrated battery might show 100% when it is actually lesser than that.
 
I have the installer files of titanium backup and battery better stats, I have not rooted the phone till now. Will try them.

I hope what you are saying is true, and yeah once 4.1 arrives for our phone, please do make a post here or send buzz me on my inbox. I don't keep up do date with all this update stuff that much.

Most prolly your phone will notify you itself, so no need to worry about it.

So its official none of the phone getting 4.1 jellybean update expect Xperia s and Xperia p....all other 2012 and 2011 phone not updating to newer version...
So guys stay away from Sony in future....

Huh ? What are you ? A Sony hater ?

First go and read that article properly before making such a post. Nobody said only S and P are getting updates. FYI the delay is only for the T/TX/V. 4.1 Final version is ready for U/P/Go/Sola already and for the S it's been ready since the beginning of the month.

And what have the other manufacturers done that people should stay away from Sony ? HTC ? Announced but no firm date on release yet and that too for phones more expensive than 90% of Sony's devices. Samsung announced a long list of phones to be updated, but any firm date ? Even Q1 2013 ? Nope. Only GS3 received it and Note/GS2 will get it next month. Others will get it probably in Q2 next year.

LG has announced that none of its 2012 models will get JB except some Korean/us exclusive models. Even the quad core Optimus 4X HD isn't getting Jellybean.

So tell me smart guy, what manufacturer should we switch to :unsure:
 
Got myself the Xperia U yesterday. Cannot wait to update it to ICS. But its 300MB+ download in SUS & I don't have any access to broadband right now.:(

Is there any difference between using PC Companion/SUS vs using flash tool to update ??
What is the download size for the flashtool??
Can somebody provide the link for the Indian .ftf file for the U (like Mediafire)?? My SI number is 1261-6397

Since I'm now on GPRS, I'll wait till I get back to college after the vacations to get ICS updated.

BTW, how are you so sure of the JB updates on U & Sola ?? There seems to be a hot debate on XDA lately of the issue & it is surprising to see that the only piece of info that they're linking to is the article posted on TE about JB updates in December.
 
Well that's upto you whether you want to believe or not, but what makes people think the U/Sola are NOT getting JB ? Sony never said so. And in the comments too they said more info on the update for Sola/U will posted soon.
