MTP Device problem

Well i have a Creative Zen Micro 5GB and recently it has stopped working on my computer specifically [ it used to work earlier]

Now when i plug it in it detects Creative Zen Mirco [i.e the balloon pops up in the bottom of the screen]. . .then the standard installation window opens. .when i follow the dialogues it leads me to an installation screen where it tries to install this as a MTP Device. .and here it fails to do so . . and i am unable to access my player or Sync it with WMP 11. . this happens when i plug my phone in MTP mode to my PC as well.

While when i do this on my friends PC. .it gets detected and ready for Sync within the second. .

Please some1 give me a solution. .i have the latest Firmware on my player which makes it a MTP device and directly Sync able with WMP.

I don't have any creative software installed on my PC [neither do my friend's PC]. .so please tell me if i require to do so. . i have windows XP SP3

It happens. Windows issue. Uninstall the player from your system and then reboot. THen connect and allow it to be detected all over again.

I must have done that like a gazzillion times already

Try reinstall WMP11.

Its a registry/drivers thing. A reinstall would fix it for sure I doubt you want to do that though. You will prob need to lean some stuff related to the drivers from ur registry. What ones exactly, dunno Try google more?

try it in linux, if it works there, then you know who to blame. MTP is a protocol, if linux honors then should windows as well.

It was a corruption in my MTP shit watever that is. . reinstalled WMP 11 . . tadaa !!
