If you're not going to mod it later on, then it doesn't really matter which you choose. But if you are planning to mod it, then Jasper would be the first choice.

Looking at those rates, I'm assuming it's an import console, so no warranty.

yup 13.5k would be an OOR console ..
Word of advice .. Dont get NTSC-J Consoles .. You will have a tough time finding games for it ..

jasper i m getting shipped from us, will have to get it mod for additional 1k and also a power conv or new supply. so total around 14.5K
falcon is aus version so i can save on power supply. so total 12K
I do intend to get it modded, and wont be playing for long hrs or online. So bit confused if it justifies the additional 2.5K

Can anyone suggest a better price or source for modded jasper? I am based in delhi.

I would always suggest against import console. With an Indian console, you would be paying 3-4k extra, but at least you have 3 years RRoD and E74 warranty to it. Why not get it from here itself?

Not as long as the warranty sticker is retained in a proper condition. Microsoft people who come to collect the console usually check that first and then give you the replacement.

Why not order the console from TE dealer Prashant and get it for discounted price? I'm sure he has some good deals lined up. PM him or check out his deals in the Dealers Paradise section.

As for modders in Delhi, wait for someone from that location to guide you on it. Else you could head off to IVG (Indian Video Gamer) forums and there are people who carry out modding jobs, perhaps you could find someone from your place.

Go for the Arcade console. It would be best for you and has jasper chip. But remember you get 3 yrs warrant for rrod (it's a heating issue for which MS offers extended warranty). Your usual warrant (for console and all its accessories) is 1 year.

I would also recommend to check with TE dealer Praashant in the dealers section. You'll get a very good deal through him and the console will reach at your doorstep without any hassle.

I wouldn't recommend a grey market (or import) piece. Both falcon and jasper are almost invulnerable to rrod (with jasper being more certain at it) but yet it's worth having a console under warranty. And like Ethan said, if you really want to mod it you can do so without damaging the sticker.

And I guess you can still play on XBOX live with an original game. But if you decide to play with a back up (downloaded) game, then you (read: your console and gamertag) are likely to get banned.
