Uninstall IE7 Beta From Your Computer

I had IE7beta2 and I _DID_ have to have to click "show Updates".

It was terrible when I installed - and stopped working completly after I installed Norton Internet Security 2007.

Thanks for the page, and the tip - just happy I didn't have to summon a wizard.

thank you for that bit of help there, worked like a charm. Now I will just stay put with IE 6 (arrgggg is there anything out there that is better than IE? I tried firefox, and netscape....yuck! ) You say Opera is good, I tried that too but maybe I did not give it a chance to much. think it is worth giving it another shot?

I had a similar issue. IE7 preview had been installed by a past employee and his account had been deleted, so, as I was logged in, it gave me the same error message. After some searching I found the following:

Internet Explorer 7 Fails to Uninstall from Specified User Account

If you see an error message saying that you cannot uninstall Internet Explorer 7 from this user account, you can bypass the check by following these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then press ENTER.
2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer.
3. Right-click the Internet Explorer key, click New, and then click DWORD value.
4. Type InstalledByUser as the name, and then press ENTER to finish creating the new registry value.
5. Try to uninstall Internet Explorer 7 again.

This worked like a charm for me. I hope it helps others.

Problem I dont have anything remotly close to saying " Internet Explorer to uninstall in my control panal even if I click the radio button. email me would be better than posting. mattman001@hotmail.com subject IE uninstallation

I did what everyone said in every post but if I click tools I dont get a "Folder options" option? I have delete brose hist., manage addons, work off line, windows update, full screen, menu bar, tool bars, internet options. I did the regedit thing hasnt done anything for me yet but sense I cant find folder options it wouldnt. and I did the run/ long line of stuff. nothing. and I did the update radio and nothing pops up IE7 or IE anything.

I found a Folder options in control panal classic view. but still dont see IE7 uninstll in add/remove and no luck with the %windir% stuff

We have Yahoo IE7 on our PC. We have removed IE7 3 times and each time we have downloaded IE7 from the Microsoft website, it re-installs optimised for Yahoo. However, I have noticed it is not installed on the other 2 windows profiles we have on our computer. Is there anything else anybody can sugggest?
