Hi guys, soon I will be getting Airtel DTH connection (diwali ebay gift). Now I am going to connect two TVs to this. Main connection will be in my brother's room. His room is just above mine and there is hardly a difference of 10 metres between the two. My brother will switch off his Tv late at night, but I will like to watch my fav. Sports broadcasts at night.

So my question is are there any devices that can help me change channels from different room? I heard something about Tvlink but I am not sure whether or not it work with Airtel DTH.

Aren't there any Wireless Universal remotes or something?

Lol arent remote supposed to be wireless .

Apart from that, The only thing you can prolly do is get another stb or maybe you can try and get another receiver, open the box, manually attach the receiver to the other one and put that one in your room or something like that.

Have you got a solutin for this ? If not, then read below:

    You have two options here:

    1. Buya Logitech Harmony 890 Remote - it will work wirelessly through walls to contro your STB.

    2. Buy a Remote Extender (difficult to get in India). You will need another remote which is compatible with your STB.

^^Nope, you don't even touch the remote or the box. It's an external module, has a IR receiver and transmitter in one body.

Would suggest comments be made *after* researching the suggestions, not just shooting off one's mouth.

    right ..

but if the extermal module (remote extender) is all in all, one box, how does it transmit to the stb in a differnt room?

Wont it need a wire to transmit back to stb in the other room?

It uses light, invisible as it may be. the receiver and transmitter face the same side. It works in exactly the same way as your remote pointed to the wall opposite the device instead of the device itself.

So you basically put it to face both rooms at the same time. If you need to cross a few bends, get another extender or two.

Here's an example Logitech® Harmony® IR Extender System (this has already been mentioned in this thread)

And here's the Google result page. Blow yourself out. ir extender - Google Search
