Default Question on AMD/Intel CPU Coolers

Hi guys,
Soon i am going to be buying a new Phenom II AMD CPU and going to be using my SCCF on it, so I will be having the AMD stock cooler. My question is that, is it safe to use the AMD stock cooler on Intel CPUs, since my Intel stock cooler is pretty old now :o My proccy is E6420.
And, out of curiousity, can Intel stock coolers be used on AMD CPUs?
I could have PMed some1 and asked since this may seem like a silly question but i thought there maybe some other people wondering too so......

-Thanks ^_^

You cannot do that generally, as mounting mechanism are different. With Intel you have got push pin mechanism which is not compatible with amd's stock cooler.
