That's it?? When I got processor, it showed as 65 degrees celcius but the heatsink and processor is cool. Give it a day or 2, let the thermal paste spread properly via heat. 45nms shows weird temps on idle but correct when on load. Give it some time

Core Temp is right, Intel confirmed 100C TjMax for 45nm Wolfdales.

I've got absolutely no air flow in my case.. >.< Ambient temp is around 30~ deg.
The 3 fans that are present are the ones on the processor, gpu and smps..

Wel it is a good idea to invest Rs. 300 in MX-2. Get some more airflow in your cabinet. Is this the one with the latset stepping you were inquiring about that day? Blah it was suppose to have better sensors!
Run orothos and see what ONLOAD temps you get.
BTW Congrats for the new purchase.

my friend has the sme issue and its not becuase of the cooling inside the fan.his idlee temp is like 49-53 even thogu hit is not overlcoked where mine with the same setup is like 32 -35 !! so i think the problem is not becuase of ambient inside the case its is defiantely seems to be processor batch

I have the same problem with my E8400. The temp went way high when overlocked. Also i have the Zalman 9700Led Cooler. Tried and testing but temp still the same. Tom will be testing each part again..hope to find some solution.
