    Intel Core i5 750 - Unlocked Multiplier

I wonder whether any thing I pick is defect free except my 7 years old P4 which is rocking now also.

Since today evening my new Rig has been acting stangely.

Core speed has been fluctuating on the fly from 1200Mhz to 3300Mhz randomly. the multiplier on this is also varying between x9 to x25. There are also frequent crashes.

Please help me to sort the problem

    ^^

It would do that, the system manages the CPU cycles, for optimization. When full load is applied, automatically the CPU will move to maximum potential.

You need to be specific if you want help. When do you get it? During POST or running through some applications? What type of applications? Which OS? Which psu?

As far "fluctuation" goes, the system will use the processing power that the application requires, a power saving option, something like EIST. If you want to disable it, disable Speedstep (EIST), Turbo Mode, C1E and C-STATES on your BIOS.

Pardon me if I was not clear.

Some times it doesnt even go to bios. I havent installed any application yet. It freezes randomly.

    OS: Win 7

    PSU: Corsair VX450

    MObo : MSI P55 GD80

I have disabled all ESIT, Turbo Mode, C1E and C-States but still it is same. The temperature is hovering around 70-99C.

I dont know what is the fault. Mobo or Processor.

^^ That is way too high, ensure the Heatsink is seated correctly, and the fan is working. Maybe the CPU is auto-throttling due to thermal issues.

After a series of reboots the temperature now seems to be fine.

But I am unable to maintain a constant 2.66Ghz using whatever settings in bios.

i don't think you'll get 2.66GHz all the time. it will go 2.66Ghz when its required i.e. at high load. why don't you try some benchmarking software?
