got my nh-d14 and see the results.

    hi,

sorry for opening a new thread but i thought that this must be seen.

    pc specs

    amd phenom oc'ed to 3.7

    msi 790fx gd70

    gskill ripsaws 1333 mhz

    gtx 275

    cm690 with 9 fans installed.

    CPU COOLER . - NOCTUA NH-D14

i installed my new noctua nh-D14 and these are the results.

i oc'ed my phenom from stock 3.4 to 3.7 and did this by increasing the multiplier to 18.5

so first let me tell u that i have no AC in my room (as home is on renovation).

living on first floor and so my room is a little hot.

have a cooler in my room but never directed the cooler towards the cabinet. just switched on the cooler later in the test.

    so here it starts.

first look at the current temperatures of my place.

now ran prime95 with just a fan runing (due to summer it also blowing warm air) in room.

now with cooler switched on but the cooler is not directed towards cpu

now when i opened the cabby

finally closed the cabby and now again captured the screen after 10 minutes of closing.

stopped the test after 30 minutes (roughly)

temperatures at stock clocks. (cooler runing)

and guys this is 13 degrees less then i was getting on stock heatsink.

stock heat sink - at stock clocks - prime 95 runing - 67(would have gone above if the test was continued. test was ran for 20 minutes)

so, what do u say guy's.

    is my cooler good????????????????

I have it too and have been using for 2-3 weeks.Didn't post it as I've been busy the past week and didn't play around with my rig much.

Two words.Ambient Temperature. They make all the difference.

8-10C differences in both idle and load temps when you go from normal to A.C. on at 24C.

Just moving my cabby in a particular direction for better airflow brought down temps by another couple of degrees.

Point being this is a really good heatsink , you just need to make sure your surrounding environment doesn't bottleneck it.
