2 years back when i bought AMD 965BE processor, my CPU temps used to be about 48 degrees idle and 55 degrees on load and they were fine for me. Time passed, with gradual increase in temps, now since past few days i am monitoring my temperatures, they are about 55 idle and just now, they are 58 degrees. This is the condition when i have just now cleaned my cabinet.

Any reason for this gradual rise in temperatures?? And solutions for this..

Well ambient temperatures are on the rise as well as where is your PC located, is the airflow inside the cabinet good?

You recently cleaned your PC, the following issues could have cropped up --
    • Improper seating of the HSF on the processor.
    • Did you reapply Themal Paste, if yes then how did you put it?
    • Where are you based, Sire?
    • How is the airflow in you cabinet oriented, positive [where more air is pumped in than thrown out] OR negative [more air is thrown out than pumped in]

Also in-case you need help pertaining, how to apply TIM --> http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/200...ll-about-tim/1 / http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/overclocking/134.

Hope this solves your issues, Cheers!!

1)I didnt removed the cooler to clean the CPU, i dusted everything including heatsink with a brush.

2)I have 1x120mm fan in very front near HDDs, 1x120mm on side window ( to provide cool air to my GPU), My Corsair PSU fan is just above the CPU ( i never check if it thrusts in air or out) as well as a 120mm Fan at the rear which thrusts out warm air. Plus there is a fan on GPU as well as my stock cooler. so, to cut the whole story short, i think its a positive arrangement.

3)I live in bareilly )250kms from delhi and have hot summers comparatively a degree or two lesser than new delhi.

4)My cabinet is CM Elite 310

Well I urge that you remove the heatsink off the processor, clean the old TIM [use alcohol OR after-shave] off and then reapply a good reputed TIM [Arctic Silver5 and Tuniq TX2] are two good options, although if these are not available try to get the Cooler Master HTK 002 minimum.

    For how to this --> http://www.bit-tech....all-about-tim/1 / http://www.techpower...verclocking/134.

It is dumping its hot air right onto the processor, so that is your main culprit. Just reconfirm once by placing your hand there once while the PC is operational. If it the case on confirmation, I cannot really do anything, as you will have to buy a new cabinet with a bottom mount provision for the SMPS to not any real change in temperature.

No, i just checked and the PSU fan is sucking air and dumping it outside, so PSU is not the culprit. Instead its helping to balance the equilibrium inside (2 fans out, 2 In)

I can only comment that more n more amd 955 and 965 people are facing this heat issue recently. It may be due to onset of summers. Climate does affect the inside temps unless you really use some water cooling or modding stuff.

I am looking for Corsair H60 water cooling as i am fed up of the noise of my stock cooler. I am not much into OCing, Is it a good cooler and how much difference it can make?

If you can invest that much on a cooler, go for the Noctua NH-U12P SE2 ~4000/- Sire, best solution in the price band --> http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1196/1/ / http://www.kitguru.net/components/co...on-se2-review/.

A few salient points about the same --
    • The quietest solutions.
    • Very efficient and proven design.
    • After sales support really works [they sent me a AMD adapter bracket from Austria via priority Air Mail for free, all you require is appropriate proof of purchase].
    • Wide compatibility for sockets ranging from AM2 / LGA 775 and above.

    Hope this convinces you, Cheers!!
