just get a ASUS M2A74-AM. Its very nice for budget pcs.
First off all , Guys
I ) Does AMD Athlon II X2 2xx supports RVI ( Nested paging ... or Virtual Hardware paging support ) ... Rapid Virtualization Indexing ... i m not able to find any specific info regarding that on Web ...
Also if they do posses RVI extensions ... do this mean that Sempron 14x also wud be supporting that ...
RVI was introduced with Phenoms ... before that all AMD Proccys carried AMD Pacifica ... RVI just enhances Pacifica with nested paging support ...
II ) and if yes ... plz let me know the best mobo processor kit under 6.5 K ... ( not more than that )
III ) also wht wud be the Athlon 240 processor overclocking ability with Stock HSF V/S Athlon 245 and 250 ... (can we squeeze a 500 Mhz more from that 240 or not)
IV )Mobo options that i had Searched around
1 ) Asus 740G/SB700 ( HT Up to 2000/1600 MT/s ) Newegg.com - ASUS M2A74-AM AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 740G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards
2 ) Biostar 760G/SB710 ( HT Up to 5200 MT/s ) don abt its ACC status yet
Newegg.com - BIOSTAR A760G M2+ AM2+/AM2 AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards
3 ) Gigabyte 740G/SB700 ( HT Up to 2000/1600 MT/s) Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-MA74GM-S2 AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 740G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards
V ) Can we get Amd Sempron 140 unlocked with this Biostar Mobo listed above ..
Suggestions Welcomed
Can any owner of Amd Athlon II 2xx and Amd Sempron 14x ... confirm us whether these Chips support nested paging or not ... u cud do that via Everest software by following
First , Enable Virtualization in ur BIOS ... then run ur OS and open Everest
> motherboard > Cpu ID > CpuID Features ... check whether Nested Paging is checked or not and report back ...

When I last checked, Giga GA-MA74GM-S2 did not support S 140 & A II X2 240/245/250 .

1. Yes, All of AMD’s procs support AMD-V and RVI. Read this: RVI | The Virtualization Blog
2. 785G chipset has got rave reviews and is also very affordable. Go for a MoBo based on this chipset with the Athlon II X2 240. It should come within your budget.
3. (4 & 5) I haven’t got this rig so I won’t comment and leave this for other members to answer.
