Guys,
I am confused which would be the best mboard for me. I am confused between P45 / X48 as well. Please recommend me a good m.board.

P5Q-E will easily fit in the MSI p45 Zilent budget !

I am not very keen on asus coz of the failure ratios as considered to other boards. Everybody whom i talk to have had asus m.board failures now and then. I am suspecting build quality on asus boards.

..I have almost always gone Asus way, never had any issues with the boards, never once needed to RMA it.
I would suggest for for the P5Q.
I myself am getting one.

What about the Zalman cooler? Is it any good? Would it cost a lot more to get the same or similar cooler separately?

It cost a good deal 2.5k for the zalman cooler which is free with the msi board.
