Why is everyone backing Panny so much?
their true contrast is more in the range of 500:1 to 1000:1.(NO LCD or PLASMA HAVE A TRUE CONTRAST ABOVE 4000:1)so all those are bogus ratings like in audio where we have the PMPO which is bull.
but the panasonic lx80 SD content performance is slightly better.

well this tv is good unfortunately samsung uses upto 4* different panels in 32inch segment from samsung,au optronic, cmo.samsung also may use CPT* panels, considering cpt as shipped a large number of panels to samsung.

all these panels have different contrast, viewing angles, colors and input lag.
the one reviewed in HDTV looks like its based on AMVA considering the deep blacks and very low input lag.if it was a SPVA we would have seen a high input lag.so it all comes down to which panel u get and the criteria.

Yeah, but SPVA would be the second-best after that AMVA. The serial number of the TV *should* have some indication as to the panel type used.

unfortunately thats possible only if we buy in grey market, since most if not all the dealers won't allow us to check which panel the tv has since unless we buy it ,they won't even allow us to open the box.
btw its not the serial number that enlightens us about the panel but by simply checking the shape of the pixel.or by accessing the service menu.some models do have a letter letters s or A or c located in sticker at the rear of the tv.
