It does have 1.3a HDMI so it is very likely that it should atleast be able to do 'passthrough' thru HDMI. Based on what I read it downmixes DTS-MA to DTS 5.1 or Stereo. Looks more like a licensing issue rather than hardware capability. So it may be supported in future once they acquire the license. I just ordered one for my younger brother.
I own a Kaiboer K100 (PCH-A110 clone, using Sigma 8635 chipset) which does HD audio pass thru via HDMI. WD TV Live is based on the newer Sigma 8655 chipset with a little more power so it is very likely that the H/W is capable.
However, like someone above said, not yet confirmed :-)
