PSP: G.I. Joe - The Rise of Cobra requires OFW 5.55

Whoa.. this aint too good a news for ppl with Modded psp if u ask me.
The GI JOE game upcoming on the handheld will come with OFW 5.5 and u cannot play the game w/o installing the OFW it seems.

This is gonna be interesting.. if i put it without hitting any panic buttons.

I was planning to purchase Assassins Creed / Soul Caliber UMD this year end but this news kinda changes the equation.
I get the game (UMD/Iso), install the New OFW.. then i can play the game but NOT any ISOs.. even the legit backups.
Ofcource u got the pandora.. u can keep fiddling with ur machine.. but one fine day Sony breaks into ur psp and renders it pandora proof.. ulp ..

Not too sure if Mr Alex wil be releasing the CFW time and again since it was stated that his purpose of releasing the CFW is not to pirate the games, but to open up the console to homebrews.

Intelligent move by sony to beat down the piracy but instead of doing such stunts sony should start a exchange library that'll be better :p

Why would they want to shoot themselves in the foot. That does not make any business sense. They will simply concentrate on finding way to make you buy the games and thats what they should do too.

I guess DA will wait for OFW 6.0 before he releases his CFW....he said so himself...but then he was talking about 5.50, which according to him, did not warrant an effort as it didn't have any major upgrades as compared to 5.03.

As for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, the reviews are so bad....so so very bad!....that howsoever much I may like the original series, I will not play the game. I saw video reviews and gameplay videos, and they sucked big time!
I am happily sticking to Killzone, Resistance:Retribution and MGS.

Whos worried abt GI Joe Game..
Assassins Creed is due to come up and i think it ll be a great purchase for a UMD.

I stil enjoy 3.90 M33-3 As no issues with anything whatsoever.

Uptil now, Sony cudnt wedge a foot into psp of ppl like me, but this whole firmware req is pretty risky for future. Keep updating and one fine day u get some module with ur new update which well mite install a hack against firmware.

Maybe i shdnt hv mentioned all above said in gen public interest.
I hope Sony doesnt reads this.

Just waiting for Assassins Creed ,nothing else good is coming up for PSP.
