After the Xperia Z , another water resistant smartphone from Sony dubbed Xperia ZR is rumored to be in works.
Xperia blog reports that the new model will have a 4.6" HD display with 1280x720 resolution, a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with 2GB of RAM and 13MP Exmor RS shooter. It will have 8GB internal storage with microSD slot and 2300mAh battery.
The Xperia ZR is rumored to have higher IP55/IP58 protection rating which is even better than the Xperia Z which has IP55/IP57 rating. IP58 rating means that the phone could be submersed in 1.5m deep water for up to 30 minutes. The design of the Xperia ZR is rumored to be similar to the Xperia ZL.
Pictures of the device are not yet available, but it will be interesting if Sony comes up with water and dust resistant phone at a more affordable price point than the Xperia Z.
