Softwares for video conversion, compression, creation and editing

Hi Guys,

I have raw videos and photos which I shot from my camera, and I am looking for softwares which I can use to make a movie out of it. So I need a movie creating software which can handle it. I also need a software for video conversion and compression without loss of too much quality (.mp4 to .avi say).

Configuration: Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium, Dell M102z laptop with AMD E450 processor

Camera: Panasonic Lumix TZ10. Video format ".mts"

Requirements:

1. Video creation and editing software.

2. Video conversion and compression software.

If you want simple yet efficient one, then you can use the Windows DVD maker.

Alternately you can use Nero Vision to create a video file out of the pictures and video files. You can manually add a various transition or effects. Also audio files
