Samsung has announced its refreshed 7 inch tablet dubbed Galaxy Tab 3 which comes with new Galaxy S4 like styling, but specs wise the new tab seems to be designed keeping affordability in mind rather than high end hardware.

The Galaxy Tab 3 also comes in Wi-Fi and 3G versions like the Tab 2. Rest of the specs are pretty much same including 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM, 7" display with 1024x600 resolution, 8/16GB internal storage with microSD card slot, 3MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera. It also has 4000mAh battery. The Tab 3 will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS.

The Tab 3 is more compact and lighter than the Tab 2 ( 188.0 x 111.1 x 9.9mm, 306g vs 193.7 x 122.4 x 10.5 mm, 345g) which should make fitting it in pockets easier. The Wi-Fi version of the Tab 3 will start shipping in May followed by 3G version in June.

There is no official word on pricing yet but by looking at the specs we can expect it to be priced similarly to the Tab 2.
