Following the latest leaks of Microsoft's upcoming Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update, Nokia has gotten thinking. The upcoming GDR3 update will open the doors to quad core processors and 1080p displays (finally!) on the Windows Phone 8 platform. This leaves Nokia at a fork pitch for their next flagship Lumia.
Nokia Lumia EOS

Nokia's next Windows Phone 8 flaghsip is going by the name of Nokia Lumia EOS. The upcoming Lumia EOS will pack a Pure View camera that is similar to the one found in the Nokia Pure View 808 smartphone, and not like the one on the Lumia 920. However, Nokia is now trying to decide whether to use a dual core or a quad core chipset in their next flagship. This dilemma has arisen thanks to Microsoft's upcoming GDR3 WP8 update (which is a good thing).

In all likelihood, this might end up as being the first Nokia smartphone (or a Windows Phone) with a quad core chipset inside. We really hope Nokia goes all out on the specifications, leaving nothing behind. This all out push might help them clinch an even better opinion by the reviewers and users worldwide.

Other specifications in tow:
  • AMOLED display
  • double tap to wake feature
  • an FM transmitter
  • a "sleeping screen"
  • 2000 mAh+ battery
  • 41 MP Pure View camera
  • OIS floating lens
  • Xenon flash

Expect a Holiday 2013 release for the Lumia EOS.
