Asus X Series X53SC-SX223D Laptop: Flipkart.com: Compare, Review Asus Notebook
Core i7
Gt 520m
4gb Ram
Asus K Series K53SV-SX521D Laptop: Flipkart.com: Compare, Review Asus Notebook
core i7
GT 540M
8GB ram

or
Asus K Series K53SV-SX520D Laptop: Flipkart.com: Compare, Review Asus Notebook
core i5
Gt 540m
4 gb ram

also getting an offer from a local supplier for dell vostro 3550
i5 2nd generation
4gb ram
5oo gb hdd
ati hd 6630m

all for 41k

also should i go for a bettet cpu or better gpu
wanna use these laptops for atleast 3 years
also would the battery life be affected if i take quadcore i7
also i am not much of a gamer .i had a poor laptop so couldnt play them but i would want a machine that would allow me to play them

If you are going with Dell, must say take the extended warranty, my friends laptop died exactly 1yr 3~4 months after purchase. Mobo failure.

if budge is not a concern go for Asus K Series K53SV-SX521D ...its a power house !!
as far as warranty is concerned dont think asus is offering any extended warryanty !!

so if thats the concern go with vostro 3550 with 3 yrs !! :)

er.. this link The Dell Online Store: Build Your System
gives it at 44490/- and only 320gb & core i3 with no upgrade option for either
so at 41k your deal is...WOW
:p just spent the last half hour customising all the d**n vostro's there to get config similar to yours

I bought Asus K53SV 520d last week from flip kart at 37k
Its quality is a lot better than Dell inspiron. A lot better. in build quality department i'd put Asus 2nd with HP 1st.
this laptop is cool, temperature wise as well :p.
to put it simple, I finally got a real LAPTOP, that I can keep on my LAP. Lol
My model comes with total of 3 USB Ports with one of them being USB 3.

Dell has a matte screen,3 usb 3.0 ports,ok keyboard and ok speakers. With extended warranty you will have peace of mind for the next 3 years..So even though you are paying 8k extra..it is well worth it..as I said the deal you are getting for Dell is excellent..

Asus build quality is comparable to Dell, one usb 3.0,Glossy screen and altec lansing speakers, runs cool but only one year warranty...Asus is true value for money.....decide on the features you want and you cannot go wrong with either of them.

any idea about asus screen quality compared to acer 5830TG?

becase even acer is offering 2yrs extended warranty plan but the screen is way too reflective...has any one compared both ?
