Microsoft has launched the Surface Pro tablet yesterday and soon after the launch , the tablet quickly went out of stock.

Microsoft started selling the Windows 8 based Surface Pro on Feb 9th. The tablet comes in 64GB and 128GB storage versions. The 128GB version was quickly sold out on MicrosoftStore.com. It was also selling on Bestbuy and Staples and both ran out of stock after a while. As of now, only 64GB version is available on these stores.

Microsoft later announced in Surface blog ," Customer response to the launch of Surface Pro has been amazing. We’re working with our retail partners who are currently out of stock of the 128GB Surface Pro to replenish supplies as quickly as possible. Our priority is to ensure that every customer gets their new Surface Pro as soon as possible."

The Surface Pro 64GB version may be facing lower sales due to criticism of having lower available storage space than advertised. Only about 29GB of storage is usable in 64GB version due to usage by Windows, Office , other apps , recovery etc. Similarly in the 128GB version, the user will get 89GB usage space ( read more ).
