Lava has launched a new smartphone. Dubbed the Lava Xolo B700, this new smartphone is a variant of the previously launched budget Xolo A700 smartphone (which also happens to be Lava's cheapest Xolo A series Android smartphone). The new model has a ginormous battery, sized at 3450 mAh. You read that right, 3450 mAh. Other specifications are pretty standard, have a look anyway.
Lava Xolo B700

The Lava Xolo B700 is an average looking handset. It packs an older designed 4 button capacitive touch at the bottom of the 4.3 inch display. The display isn't that bad, at qHD resolution the pixel density is still high enough to give you sharp images (about 256 ppi). Moving on the main (and probably only) highlight, i.e. the battery. The Lava Xolo B700 boasts of a massively huge 3450 mAh battery. Those who want a Nokia feature phone like battery life with an Android, here's your budget contender right here. Expect at least two days of full usage from the Lava Xolo B700.

Lava Xolo B700 Specifications

  • Mediatek MT6577 chipset
  • 1 GHz dual core ARM Cortex A9 CPU
  • PowerVR SGX531 GPU
  • 512 MB of RAM
  • 4.3″ qHD (960 x 540) IPS display, 256 ppi pixel density
  • Dual SIM (3G + 2G)
  • 5 MP AF camera sensor, LED flash
  • VGA front camera
  • 4 GB of internal storage
  • expandable upto 32 GB via micro SD card
  • 3,450 mAh battery
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

A big downer here is the older Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. That, and the 512 MB of RAM are our only concerns for this otherwise great budget handset. Seeing that it is priced at only Rs. 8,999 despite the big battery, we feel that the Lava Xolo B700 is a good value for money product for those who need the extra mile of battery life.
