HTC ONE S (T-MOBILE) & HTC ONE X (AT&T) buying advice

Friends, im interested in buyin HTC ONE S (T-MOBILE) or HTC ONE X (AT&T) unlocked from ebay.in. But i have some concerns nd will be helpful if u could clear them,
1) since both these models are released with different configurations here in India will i be able to get them serviced locally if some problem arises in future (im from chennai) ?
2) i read in some forums that Wi-Fi hotspot doesnt work in these unlocked phones without rooting, can anyone shed light on this issue?

i was overall impressed with htc one s when i saw it in person last week, only later did i came to know from TE that the indian version houses an older processor, so thought of sourcing it from US if there is a significant performance difference... i didnt lik the other phones on offer in the same price range.
