Monitors How is LG 23EA53VQ IPS Monitor compared to Dell U2312

I'm looking for a good 23/24 inch monitor.
How is LG 23EA53VQ IPS Monitor compared to Dell U2312?
I found that Dell Ultrasharp series is considered as the best monitors. So decided to buy Dell U2312HM. Also it as available in a local shop nearby. But found that it uses an e-IPS panel and also it doesn't have an HDMI port. Anyway the panel is manufactured by LG. So i checked in LG India site and found their IPS Models - 23EA53VQ and 24EA53VQ - http://www.lg.com/hk_en/monitors/lg-23EA53VQ. Both have HDMI port and use AH-IPS Panel which is better that e-IPS. I couldn't find any good review about these models. There are only 2-3 user reviews in Amazon store where Dell has 100's of reviews.
Is 23EA53VQ good for games and watching movies?
Does it have anti-glare coating or is it too much reflective like Dell S series? I can't use a reflective panel in my room.
Anyone use 23EA53VQ or 24EA53VQ? Do you recommend this?

Yeah the AH-IPS panel will be better. Earlier LG panels available here didn't have overdrive and had slow response times, this one seems fine since the specs mention a 5ms g2g response.
The only problem is actual availability in stores in India.

It looks like it has an anti-glare matte surface :

Do you know where to get these LG monitors? I had a hard time finding anyone who was willing to sell me the LG IPS monitor I wanted. Eventually gave up and bought AOC lol.

Prime and ITDepot list the 23EA53V so can give them a try. Speaking of AOC, the i2267Fwh and i2367Fh have AH-IPS panels and HDMI inputs.

I highly doubt they're modifying the overdrive circuitry for India alone. Plus none of the AH-IPS panel equipped monitors seem to have 14ms G2G times : http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/search.php?query=ah-ips&select=panel

Samsung has PLS which is supposedly similar to IPS, but haven't seen them in India.
Yeah.. but the AOC model we are talking about is not there in the list. Also most of the panels listed here are costly ones. For eg. Dell 2413 will cost at least 30k. At this price I can buy a 32" Panasonic IPS TV or a Sony Bravia. I am looking for a decent monitor below 15k. Seems like the IPS monitors at this price have slow response times and I have to look for VA or TN alternatives.

http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/monitor_panel_parts.htm - If you click "21 - 21.6" or "23 - 23.8" tab you can see LG AH-IPS and e-IPS panels with 14ms G2G response times.

I don't know about VA but the TN monitor I'm using doesn't look good and have narrow viewing angles.

Have a look at this http://www.aocindia.com/product.php?product_id=92&type=monitor
Lower response time with an extra 3D feature.

I have bought aoc D2367ph monitor today. I would suggest you to go for it if you could find one. Picture Quality is brilliant and 3d is just amazing:woot:.
It looks pretty nice and have Antiglare screen not a glossy one.

Thanks for the info. I'll find one. How is the 2D to 3D conversion? Can we get 3d effect in 2d videos?
