I am planning on purchasing a motherboard like Asus H87-Pro http://www.flipkart.com/asus-h87-pro-motherboard/p/itmdzksegm8yhrhc
The description states that max resolution over DVI is 1920x1200.
I have two monitors, both Dell SP2309W which have a resolution of 2048x1152. The monitor has VGA, DVI and HDMI inputs. They use a single-link DVI-D cable.
I'll connect one monitor to the HDMI port and the other to the DVI port.
I want to know if I'll be able to use the monitor at a resolution of 2048x1152 when using the DVI connector on the motherboard. I am hopeful since the monitor uses a single link DVI-D cable.
Does anyone here have an such a setup or know if this will work?

From the Flipkart page
... Supports HDMI with Maximum Resolution 4096 x 2160 at 24 Hz and 2560 x 1600 at 60 Hz, Supports DVI with Maximum Resolution 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz, Supports RGB with Maximum Resolution 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz
The monitor connected to HDMI should work at 2048x1152.

Guys, Thanks for all your inputs.
I bought a Gigabyte GA-H87-D3H motherboard.
All three video outputs (VGA, DVI, HDMI) work at 2048x1152. But the DVI and HDMI are usable only after the OS (Windows 7, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS) loads the video driver. Prior to that, I get the followig message on the DVI and HDMI monitors.
Code:
WARNING Message
The current input timing is not supported by the monitor display.
Please change your input timing to 2048x1152@60Hz or any other monitor listed timing as per the monitor specifications.
The BIOS and GRUB console are viewable only on the VGA port.
