DVD Player Issues

Well guys i have a Sony DVD Player(part of a home theater system) which is like 2+ years old.

The problem is it plays some DVDs but in some other DVDs it plays a part of it, which generally is the Moser Baer advertisement and piracy is crime etc and after that it stops.Press any button it does not help

However the player plays VCDs without a glich.

So what may be the problem.

If it plays some DVDs perfectly but not all, its pretty obvious that those other DVDs are at fault.

Oh common dude you don't expect me to not check that before i write a post.

The DVDs are completely fine they work on my comp but not on the player.

Its common that some DVDs work on computers but get stuck on DVD players.

So what may be the problem.

I think it is an issue with the DVD lens not able to read DVDs properly. Somehow that "antipiracy" part in DVDs - it is a part one can't skip go to next chapter etc... maybe it adds to the inherent problem of your player not reading DVDs. You need to get that lens checked ASAP.

^^adding to that : you could try cleaning the dvd player lens using a lens cleaning cd. Get one from a decent brand like philips.

if it's not able to read dvd's then try a lens cleaner or go n buy new one's around 1.4K with pendrive slot and card slot also

As dvdp is 2+,chance of getting lens weakness is more.
In that case DVDp cant read DL DVDs(mov)
Cleaning lense with solution generally works.
