A lot of chaps are in the same boat Sire, myself included.

But this is turning out to be quiet a revolution of sorts, finally the Green team is able to perform and curb on excessive power consumption. This only means better prices for us.
 
Looks like I waited a bit too long to get my card, now I'll have to wait more. AMD price cut v2.0 is on the cards soon.
 
Hi guys,

I'm a bit (a lot actually) confused as to whether to wait for price cuts for an hd 7850 or get an HD 6870. I've been waiting for so long and need a GPU asap.
I'll be gaming at 1080p and at that res I would've settled for the 6870, but I look at the extra vram and OC potential on the 7850 and think it would seem like a smarter buy one (or maybe even 2) years down the road.
That said, I'm not liking the 7850 pricing and variants available here right now. What to do?

Look Sire no point going for the HD 6870.

The current crop of cards that you have on offer from the RED camp, decisively beats the GREEN team in the mid-range to entry-level graphics.

The HD 7850 2GB debuted at ~17500/- and is already available for ~15500/-, here. A drop of --2000/- within a month of release is great. A guy here in the Market section sold his card for ~14500/- recently.

I doubt you will get a better opportunity to purchase a HD 78** card until an unless the GTX 660Ti releases some time in June. So if you want the graphic card on the double as of now it will be best to purchase now OR wait till the June -->July timeline for the competition to heat up with the arrival of the nVidia offerings.
