25-35k basic gaming, development, HD movie-watching rig

Thanks for the quick response! I will definitely consider the G.Skill RIPJAWS and NZXT Gamma alternatives. In fact, I think I'll go with the recommended RAM. Good to see that a 430W PSU will suffice. I do use an APC 650VA with my old C2Q system, and I totally agree, it is a very good UPS. Are...

    Case for Galaxy R?

I tried out some S2 covers today, and although the soft cases fit my phone, the camera and button placements are different. @teja92 Thanks for the heads-up on the Capdase! I had no idea that they made cases for Galaxy R... Can't seem to find the case anywhere around though. Found it on eBay...

    Case for Galaxy R?

Hey, I've recently bought a Samsung Galaxy R, and it's a great phone. The only thing that worries me is that some day I might inadvertently drop it and crack that glass on the screen, or break the back cover, which seems really flimsy. Any idea where I can get good protective cases for the...

    Application to preview RAW files

I'd suggest Adobe Bridge too. Not only will it let you browse RAW files, but also ALL adobe formats such as PSD, AI etc. as well as most other image and video formats; so you never need to open dozens of files to look for the one you want.

Thanks @delirious :) The focus is off in that pic.. It's focused on her hair... didn't realise till I got back home and checked the pic on my PC. A result of laziness + autofocus. :) But it's still my favorite overall out of that set. :D

    The Photography Thread !

@-D. Payne- I don't think it's possible (for me) to blur it at 1/250 on a 50mm lens. :P It's quite sharp. :) Where are you located in Pune?

    The Photography Thread !

@D. Payne - Now that I look at it closely, I do agree with you about the skin tones. I guess I overdid it a bit while converting it to b/w. I have added an edge light on the left of the frame, but it's not very obvious in many of these pics (it's clearly visible in the 4th pic). I didn't have a...
