    security number plate

    Hello,

I am planning a new car. Want to know how to get new security number plate? Is this issued by RTO or normal number plate makers? Is this costly?

The dealer seems to be ignorant on this matter.

Please let me know if somebody in Bnglr got it.

    regards,

    Anand

thanks nishant. I have checked with them. They have agency here in bangalore. its 850 for Car set.

But its not proper security plate for which the Karnataka govt has not yet given permission. (I think the not enough bribe has gone to transportation ministry).

avoid going for these now. there are enough variations to make one realise that there are genuine, and modified genuine, some of which may not be approved by RTO's yet. get regular number plate for 200 odd and in a year or so when proper availability is there for security plates go for them.

I know these are not security plates. I am going for these types because the fonts are standard size. And the plates are embossed. so it is very much compliant with current rules of RTO. Looks also like a western license plate.I will check out similar plates are availble for cheaper rates . No necessarily I need to take Utsav.

Most of the number plates ( I guess upto 90 %) are not compliant with RTO regulations. But usually they wont charge because they have plenty of other ways to extract the people...:-)
