improving sound on sennheiser hd 280 pro

i have sennheiser hd 280 pro headphones.
however,i am connecting them to my onboard sound card(intel 102ggc chipset motherboard).
is there any way i can improve sound?(like sound card,external amp)
plz suggest cheap methods to improve sound quality
