When i click the drive to open, it opens in a new window...

I want them to be opened in the same window.

What i need to do to get back that option???

    Solution needed ASAP...

Note: It happens only to the drives not for the folders.

Tools > Folder Options > Open Each Folder in Same Window.

One realizes the pain caused to others by their doing only when they themselves undergo the same pain because of someone else.

its a virus, goes by many names.. there'll normally be 2 files, the first one being an autorun.inf which points to the 2nd file which is a batch file.. there can be more than one batch file.. it is possible to remove the virus manually too.. i'm guessing u can't view ur hidden files too?

Its either a resident virus or a worm...

Why don't u just install a good AV and it will be flushed out in a restart...

Just try installing the 15 day trial of Norton AV 2009 Gaming Edition and do a full syatem scan. This will definitely work.

I 'm posting another link and this time its working I checked it by downloading.

your desktop will disappear for few seconds and reappear with a mini window written Done on it just click ok.

4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download Flash Disinfector.exe

anyway you just use a good antivirus with up-to-date definiton files and you are clean from teeny-weeny viruses.

Its a virus,a hidden file and it blocks the "show all files" options.

Download RRT.exe tool to get it back to defaults, and manually delete the files.

Secondly, you need to delete few registry entries in

    HKEY_current_user>Software>microsoft>windows>curre nt version>Explorer>mount points..

These mount points are registry entry of your drives, you find few entries with '+' symbol, click on it to expand, will find sub entries like Shell>'Autoplay' or 'open with' delete them and you are done.
