I also was a long time SUSE/KDE user but I got hooked on Ubuntu/GNOME's clean and simple approach. I also think the RPM based packaging/updates are slower than debs, at least on openSUSE its slow. Now I am on Ubuntu both in office and at home

Although there was a blog about upcoming openSUSE 11 package solver being super fast now, so I might actually switch back because I prefer KDE 3.x (dont like KDE4)...
